CELEBRATE THE MOMS IN YOUR LIFE THIS SATURDAY AT ART IN THE BURG FROM 10AM-6PM


TWO DAYS until Art In The Burg!! Art in the Burg opens on South Madison & Federal Streets with a fun filled day of art, theater, music, activities for kids and cooking demos.

Schedule of Activities
10:00 – Welcome Remarks 

10:05 – Middleburg Book’s Storytime
Mary Beth Morell, owner of Middleburg Books and a former school librarian, will share some of her favorite storybooks. Her list of favorites includes  A Pocket Full of Colors: The Magical World of Mary Blair, Disney Artist Extraordinaire. Perfect for Art in the Burg!

 

10:30 – Kid’s Tribute to Mom

Join us this Mother's Day weekend for a "Tribute to Mothers" on the Madison street stage. Local performers and students will celebrate motherhood with song, spoken word and dramatic performances. Take a moment to celebrate mothers!


11:00 – Paws & Picasso Fashion Show 

During this whimsical event, our favorite four-legged friends take center stage, dressed up as famous artists from history. As they strut down the catwalk, you’ll learn fun facts and art history related to the artist they’re depicting. The crowd gets to choose their favorite, and the winner receives a special prize!

 

12:00 – Loudoun Jazz Society

Art in the Burg is for Jazz Lovers! The Loudoun Jazz Society has assembled a 7-piece band of all-stars to share the magic of Jazz!


1:45 – Salamander Cooking Demo with Chef Jose

Enjoy learning about and tasting Salamander's Chicken Caprese Sandwich made with chicken breast on house made ciabatta bread dressed with arugula, heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and their signature pesto.


2:30 – Dance King Studios

The Dance King & Queen will showcase East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Salsa and Bachata (and maybe a line dance or two). Dancers will not only perform but engage you in an interactive dance experience!

 

3:30 – The Mad Tea Party by the Jupiter Theatre 

Lewis Carroll’s Mad Tea Party comes to life on the Madison Street Stage. Enjoy the whimsy and absurdity of Wonderland…where ordinary rules don’t apply. 


4:30 – Thapasya Bharatanatyam Dance

BHARATANATYAM is an Indian Classical art form originating in ancient temples of South India. Bharatanatyam uses rhythmic footwork (nritta), facial expressions (abhinaya), and exquisite hand gestures (hastas), to tell stories of Hindu gods and goddesses.


5:15 – Artist Awards Presentation 

Drum roll please.. and the winner of the People's Choice for favorite artwork goes to...

SHOP LOCAL THIS SATURDAY, MAY 11TH AT OUR MIDDLEBURG FARMERS MARKET


The Middleburg Farmers Market will be back this Saturday, May 11th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the new Town Hall location! This year we're excited to welcome food trucks, live entertainment, weekly contests and more

The Middleburg Farmers Market is sponsored by the Town of Middleburg to provide local agriculturalists with a retail outlet for their products. The market provides the citizens of the area with an opportunity to purchase fresh quality products from the people who produce them.

We're excited to welcome back the Children's Entrepreneurs Market THIS SATURDAY, MAY 11TH!!


In celebration of Mother's Day, the young entrepreneur's will be setting up a FREE PAINT-A-POT craft table, as well as their booths that include face painting, dog treats, cookies, soaps, and more!

FINAL CALL FOR THE RSVP'S FOR MIDDLEBURG DAY ON MAY 31st


We're excited to share that the Inaugural Middleburg Day will be held on Friday, May 31st! We will celebrate our Middleburg residents and businesses with a community picnic on from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Town Hall. 

There will only be handicapped accessible parking available at the Town Hall on Middleburg Day. For those that need transportation, we will be including a map on Town website for pickup and drop-off locations at various locations throughout Middleburg where a shuttle will be expected to run every 15-20 minutes.


There will be live music by Andre Fox, delicious dinner buffet by our beloved Tutti Perricone & Mark Metzger, Ice Cream by Scruffy's and fun activities planned for all ages!

The best part? IT'S ALL FREE! Help us spread the word and tell your neighbor!

The Town Hall Ribbon Cutting will be taking place at 4:00pm.
