The Sandra Massie Forbush Lifetime Art Exhibition spans her rich artistic life and will showcase a collection of more than 30 paintings from private collectors on view at the Museum of Hounds and Hunting North America in Middleburg, VA.

Sandra's unique background as a horseman gives her an edge in understanding animal anatomy, observing individual traits, and adhering to correct details, just as her modeling career helps her hone in on and emphasize her human subject's most appealing features. She loves portraying children and has a knack for incorporating impressionistic garden scenes or dramatic background and indoor lighting. She works exclusively in oils. Her commissions include a long list of private clients, as well as numerous horse shows and steeplechases, which use her equestrian scenes both for their posters and program covers.

She is a recipient of numerous awards and her works have been selected for exhibit at the American Academy of Equine Art, the Dog Museum, the Beresford Gallery in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and the Museum of Hounds and Hunting North America.

MIDDLEBURG OKTOBERFEST

Join us for our 4th Oktoberfest Celebration on September 21st, 2024 from 11AM-7PM! Festivities will take place on South Madison St. and Federal St., which will be closed to vehicular traffic. BACK AGAIN this year are two biergartens, traditional German food, live music, and festival games. Local beer, wine, cider, and traditional Oktoberfest foods will be available for purchase from local vendors.

We are also excited to bring back Artist's Alley. Coordinated by the Middleburg Arts Council, artwork from local and regional artists will be available for purchase. Regional artisans will also be present throughout the day with exhibits of fine art, pottery, jewelry, wearable art and more.
