Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) members are appointed by the Loudoun County Circuit Court upon recommendation by the Town Council. The BZA is a quasi-judicial body and is responsible hearing and deciding applications for:
Appeals from any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Administrator
Interpretation of the Zoning Map where there is any uncertainty as to the location of a district boundary
Variances, as defined in§ 15.2-2201, provided that the burden of proof shall be on the applicant to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that the application meets the standard for a variance as defined in § 15.2-2201 and the criteria set out in § 15.2-2309
