WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2026

8:00 AM - 4:45 PM

The Mayor, Town Council and Town Staff value civic engagement and want to create opportunities for individuals to learn more about how their local government functions. Middleburg residents, business owners or employees of a Middleburg business ages 18 and up may enroll in the Middleburg Citizens Academy, a program designed to engage and educate.

Application deadline for the 2026 Academy is January 31, 2026.  Find a link to the application below.  A limit of fifteen (15) participants will be accepted.  If there are more than fifteen applications, preference will be given to residents living in the Town of Middleburg on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Individuals accepted into the Academy will receive an email notification and class schedule after February 1st.

Middleburg Citizens Academy participants agree to attend a day long session on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.  The Academy will be small enough that individuals will get to know each other and network with Town officials who lead the classes.  The morning session will be held in the Council Chambers in the Middleburg Town Hall.  Lunch will be provided onsite.  An afternoon fieldtrip will include tours of the water and wastewater treatment plants. Transportation to the plants will be provided.

Participants will walk away better informed about how the Town of Middleburg government operates.  Those who attend the entire day long session will receive graduation certificates at the end of the Academy.

Participants will:

-Gain a deeper understanding of how your town government works from the people who   directly serve you.

-Meet Town leaders and staff members and visit various government facilities.

-Become a role model for other residents.

-Help foster an environment that contributes to the quality of life of all residents.
